WS-FTP Setup

- To setup Ws_ftp to FTP into your directory on the 281.COM server, open the Ws_ftp program.
- When the program comes up, two windows will appear. The main program window (background) and the Session Profile window (foreground).

SESSION PROFILE WINDOW
- In the Profile Name field, type 281 Communications.
- In the Host Name field, type your domain or 281.com (209.84.39.9 in picture below will not work! Replace this with your domain name or 281.com).
- In the User ID field, type the username 281 gave you, usually "webusername".
- In the Password field, type the password 281 gave you.
- Make sure that Anonymous Login is not checked.
- Make sure that Save Password is checked.
STARTUP WINDOW - In the Initial Remote Host Directory field, type /your Directory (i.e. /yourcompany.com/htdocs). You may leave this blank.
- In the Initial Local Directory field, type c:\your Local Directory.
ADVANCED WINDOW - In the Remote Port field, type 21. NOT 2001 AS SHOWN.
GENERAL WINDOW - Press the Save button at the top of the Session Profile window to save your 281 Communications Session Profile.
- After you are connected to 281.COM, press the OK button. This will begin the process of login into your directory. When the bottom of the Ws_ftp main program window says Transfer Complete, you will be in your directory.
- You are now ready to upload your files.
